Gannett Fleming Elevates Tulumello to Executive Leadership
In a strategic move to strengthen its leadership and drive innovation within its facilities sector, Gannett Fleming announces the elevation of Giuseppe “Joe” Tulumello, AIA, to senior vice president and executive director, Facilities Corporate Business Group. This new role entrusts Tulumello with steering the group toward enhanced operational excellence, effective project delivery, and diverse market expansion in alignment with Gannett Fleming’s strategic priorities.
Regarded for his visionary leadership and extensive industry acumen, Tulumello’s appointment is a testament to his meaningful impact on the firm’s project successes and client satisfaction. His previous role as Buildings Business Line director saw him cultivating robust growth strategies and leading high-profile multidisciplined projects.
Showcasing Tulumello’s expertise and commitment to excellence, his career includes significant contributions to infrastructure projects and facilities developments throughout the United States. His experience includes pivotal roles in the modernization of New York City schools for the New York City School Construction Authority, the restoration of historic establishments such as the New York State Appellate Division Courthouse, and the advancement of sustainable building practices in projects like the LEED Gold Pennsylvania Army National Guard Training Support Center.
A champion of elevating design excellence within the design-build delivery method, Tulumello highlighted his vision for “Achieving Project Excellence with Design-Build” in an industry whitepaper. The piece includes case studies on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Long Island Rail Road Enhanced Station Initiative Project and the Charlotte’s Web Cannabinoid Production Facility, emphasizing the importance of a shared vision between the client, designer, and builder, and the need for alignment throughout the design-build project. A respected thought leader on the topic, Tulumello educated members of the New York State Assembly on the advantages of progressive design-build delivery in public construction projects in a December 2023 hearing.

He is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, the American Institute of Architects, and the Society of American Military Engineers.
