Gannett Fleming Joint Venture Awards STEM Scholarship

Gannett Fleming joint venture firm Transit Capital Partners (TCP), in partnership with the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), recently awarded Yessenia Nicacio-Rosales the $5,000 TCP-CTA Transfer Scholarship at the City Colleges of Chicago-Wilbur Wright College in Chicago, Illinois. The City Colleges of Chicago Foundation administers the scholarship, and it is made possible by sponsors TCP and CTA.

Nicacio-Rosales is a computer engineering undergraduate student at Wright College, currently serves as the president of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers – SHPE Wright College Chapter, and is a member of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). She is the fourth student honored with the scholarship. Applicants must be second-year undergraduate students in a science, technology, engineering, and/or mathematics (STEM) field at a four-year college or university.

The scholarship provides second-year college students with learning opportunities for STEM education regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. A student pursuing a career in the STEM field will get real-world experience and a chance to expand their professional network with the overall goal of improving accessibility to STEM initiatives and encouraging diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
