Structural Engineer Jeremy Begley, PE, SPRAT I, shared his perspectives in a recent episode of the Structural Engineering Channel podcast entitled, “The Vital Role of Concrete Gravity and Arch Dams in Community Resource Management.”
During the 40-minute podcast, Begley discusses his career path in the dam industry and his passion for concrete dams. He addresses the differences between concrete gravity and arch dams, the advantages and applicability of concrete dams versus embankment dams, the role of these dams in hydropower and water resources, and the impacts of technology on testing and analysis. Begley also reflects on the value of mentorship and even why levity in the workplace is important.
