In the News: Nettleton Featured in ENR Project Delivery Special Section

Vice President and Senior Program Manager Thomas Nettleton, PE, DBIA, was featured in a special section of Engineering News-Record (ENR) focused on the rapid growth of design-build (DB) as the preferred delivery method for construction projects.

Nettleton explains how DB is a more inclusive method than the traditional design-bid-build model, as it facilitates greater collaboration, optimization, and efficiency through the project-delivery process.

“Leveraging the different experiences of all parties in an alternative project delivery model allows for integrating different and diverse perspectives into the design, including valuable insights regarding project constructability and maintainability,” says Nettleton. “We have seen tremendous advances in technology in recent years. Implementing virtual design and construction allows designers to optimize designs, recognize conflicts, and increase efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. It’s now possible to look at what-ifs in hours rather than days or weeks.”
