In the News: Hou Partners with Virginia American Water to Highlight Treatment Innovation
In the spring issue of Tap Into Virginia magazine, Gannett Fleming Vice President Jessica Hou, PE, BCEE, PMP, ENV SP, and Virginia American Water Director of Engineering Kristina McGee, PE, DBIA, discuss combining ultraviolet (UV) light and advanced oxidation processes (AOP) to help ensure regulatory compliance and address taste and odor concerns at the Hopewell Water Treatment Plant. This engineering innovation represents the first application of AOP using UV at a Virginia drinking water facility.
Tap Into Virginia is the official magazine of the Virginia Section of the American Water Works Association. Published quarterly, it informs association members, local and state officials, and elected representatives about water supply issues in the state.
