Valley Metro Operations and Maintenance Center Expansion | Phoenix, Ariz.

ENR Southwest: Award of Merit, Excellence in Safety

A passenger train stationed inside the Valley Metro transit facility in Phoenix, Arizona.The $92.3 million renovation project features new track and overhead catenary lines, an additional traction power substation, and track, rail systems, and expansion of multiple operational facilities. The project used building information modeling (BIM) and streamlined construction, along with carefully established staging, to result in uninterrupted, around-the-clock facility operations.

BNSF Bridge over Tri-State Tollway Rehabilitation / Reconstruction | Chicago, Ill.

ASCE Illinois: Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement ($25 million – $100 million)
RT&S: Top Project (Class 1: New Construction – Bridges)

A freight train passing over the Tri-State Tollway outside of Chicago.Averaging over 140 trains and 195,000 vehicles per day, this project replaced the three-track BNSF bridge that spans over the eight-lane Tri-State Tollway (I-294). Our team successfully minimized impacts to rail and highway traffic, as well as to neighboring parks.

ASCE Illinois: Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement ($10 million – $25 million)

Roadway and bridge construction on Irving Park Road, which crosses over the Chicago River.Reconstruction of the Irving Park Road Bridge was a challenging urban project involving multiple stakeholders. The new bridge features a multi-use pedestrian and bicycle path, connecting California Park with Horner Park, and providing an off-street trail with scenic Chicago River views.

ASHE Great Lakes Region: Project of the Year (Less Than $5 Million)

An innovative, multi-phased construction process ensured traffic and freight continued moving smoothly.

The project, completed in just 17 months, improves rail car maintenance functionality, safety, and mobility.

CMAA Central Pennsylvania: Construction Management Project Achievement Award

Featuring an accessible platform and overpass, the new station is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and serves as an anchor for future area redevelopment.

A traffic roundabout, intersecting four roads together.Among the first-of-its-kind in the City of Philadelphia, the Modern Urban Roundabout transformed the connection between Frankford Ave., Trenton Ave., and York Street. The junction, originally a six-legged signalized intersection with low visibility, is now a safe, efficient, and pedestrian-friendly roundabout.
