Gannett Fleming Receives CMAA Recognition
On behalf of Gannett Fleming, Resident Engineer Dan Foltz accepts the Public/Private Vertical Award for the CATA Transit Facility project from CMAA Central Pennsylvania Chapter President Scott Schriner.
The Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Baltimore and Central Pennsylvania Chapters recently honored Gannett Fleming with two project awards. The Ridgeway Sewage Pumping Station upgrade earned the Baltimore Chapter’s 2020 Project Achievement Award for Construction Management Excellence, and the Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) Bus Maintenance, Servicing, and Storage Facility expansion received the Public/Private Vertical Award as part of the Central Pennsylvania Chapter’s 2020 Project Achievement Awards.
Completed in 2019 for the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works in Severn, Maryland, the $1.5 million Ridgeway Sewage Pumping Station improvements provide efficient service for 138,000 county residences and businesses. Gannett Fleming served as construction manager for the project, helping the team overcome significant on-site challenges to deliver the upgraded facility in accordance with county requirements and to meet anticipated future service demands.
The $34 million CATA Transit Facility expansion provides efficient transit service for 7.3 million passengers annually throughout State College, Pennsylvania. Completed in 2019 for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Bureau of Public Transportation, the expanded facility enhances maintenance and servicing capabilities and increases storage capacity for up to 96 compressed natural gas (CNG) buses. Gannett Fleming served as construction manager for the state-of-the-art facility, set to effectively serve the county’s transit needs well into the future.
Additionally, the CMAA Central Pennsylvania Chapter awarded a young professional scholarship to Luke Ashberry, a resident project representative at Gannett Fleming who recently earned his Construction Manager-in-Training (CMIT®) designation. The CMIT is a professional credential recognizing practitioners who display high educational achievement and the desire to learn how to become competent, successful construction managers.
