In the News: Cohan Featured in Woman Engineer Magazine

From designing innovative highway intersections, bridges, tunnels, and bus maintenance facilities to managing the design and construction of major transit projects, Project Manager Christie Cohan, PE, NCTI, ENV SP has worked on a wide variety of transportation infrastructure projects in her 17-year tenure with Gannett Fleming.

Cohan recently sat down with Woman Engineer Magazine to reflect on her career, discussing some of her favorite projects, offering advice for young women who are interested in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, and explaining why an engineering degree is really a degree in critical thinking.

What’s the best thing about highway/transit engineering? “Annoying all of your friends and family by pointing at things and saying, ‘Hey, I worked on that project!’ At the end of the day, it’s the joy of seeing the things you had on paper or the computer screen come to life and make infrastructure and our communities better,” says Cohan.
