In the News: Govelovich Talks Lead Service Line Replacement in The Authority

If adopted, the proposed Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI) announced by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on November 30, 2023, will require most water systems to replace lead service lines within 10 years.

In the February 2024 issue of the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association’s The Authority magazine, Senior Project Manager Rachel Govelovich, PE, discusses the proposed LCRI and compliance with the current Lead and Copper Rule Revisions. Using the Schuylkill County Municipal Authority’s initiative to inventory and replace lead service lines, Govelovich outlines ways water systems can strategically replace lead service lines and capitalize on available funding.
